During the summer, the Eastern Townships is a veritable playground for those who love outdoor activities—biking, hiking, birdwatching… You name it, we’ve got it!
You can add golfing to that list! Our 18-hole, manicured courses are great, and they’re located just a short distance from the Espace 4 Saisons hotel—golf venues where players can practise their skills, or play a full round.
The following are five of the finest courses in the region, indicating the journey time from the resort.
This scenic course in the heart of Mont Orford National Park, is laid out around streams, valleys and rolling hills. Its mountain topography is quite a challenge for golfers, but completing the 18 holes with their panoramic views is well worth the effort!
By the way, if you book to play after 4 p.m., you’ll be charged a lower price than during the day. By early evening, you’ll be ready to relax at Espace 4 Saisons, mere minutes away.
This golf club on the shores of Lake Magog offers two superb 18-hole courses, surrounded by the lushness of nature. The “Magog” is a championship-level course with challenging fairways and greens, while the “Sherbrooke” features large greens and an island at the 16th hole. Both courses offer panoramic views of Lake Magog and Mount Orford.
Do you plan to play the courses more than once this summer? If so, it might be worth actually joining the Venise Golf Club. When it comes to booking a time slot, members have priority.
Laid out in a wooded area, this country club course caters to golfers of all levels of ability—from novice to advanced players. The 18 holes are spaced fairly close together, so it’s easy to walk around the course but, of course, you can always rent a cart.
As this is also a golfing academy, you can perfect your swing with professional instructors who belong to the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA)—either on an individual basis or as part of a group.
Panoramic views are among the major drawing cards at the 18-hole, championship-level Owl’s Head golf course. It was designed by renowned golf course designer, Graham Cooke, who in 2010, was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.
Milby Golf Course is semi-private which means that visitors, as well as members, are entitled to play here. Situated in the heart of the countryside, it is surrounded by mountains, rivers and forested land, offering breathtaking panoramas to golfers who play the 18-hole course. The heritage building that serves as the club house and a space for special events is a restored white barn with a green roof. A stylized version of the one-time barn is part of the golf club logo!
