Sustainable Tourism
The Espace 4 Saisons, like all other establishments part of the PAL+ Group, features a sustainable tourism policy that highlights our commitment and determination to enhance our organization’s performance in sustainable development in our daily actions.
Greenkey Certification
Committed to a more sustainable approach to tourism, Espace 4 Saisons is proud to have earned the Greenkey Certification with a 3-key eco-rating. Recognized across North America, this certification evaluates the eco-friendly practices of hotels and event venues based on several criteria, including waste management, energy efficiency, responsible purchasing, and community involvement. The 3-key rating reflects a strong commitment to continuously improving sustainable development practices and reducing the property’s environmental footprint.
To ensure the success of this commitment, here are some initiatives we have implemented:
Waste Management
- Composting in our restaurants and sorting stations in common areas of the hotel
- Compostable or recyclable containers in all establishments
- Partnership with the Memphrémagog Food Bank
- Reduction of paper use by replacing traditional documents in hotel rooms with interactive QR codes
- Self-service reception kiosks available for guests
- Addition of a water machine to eliminate water bottles
Responsible Purchasing
- Promoting local products and processing products at Kóz bistro to minimize the purchase of processed products
- Use of certified eco-friendly cleaning products and organic laundry detergent
- Providing bulk cleaning local products in hotel rooms
- Support of local artists: throughout the hotel, you’ll find many works by artists from the region and the rest of Quebec
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
- Installation of 8 electric vehicle charging stations
- “Bienvenue cyclistes” certification, promoting bicycle transport and offering on-site pumps and tools, as well as a secure overnight location for bicycles
- Ongoing investment in environmentally-friendly equipment, such as geothermal energy and automatic remote control systems for room temperature, to reduce our carbon footprint and optimise the energy efficiency of the building.
Social Involvement and Community
- Partnerships with other tourist businesses in the region to support the local economy through donations and sponsorships
- PAL+’s annual donations to organizations total more than $45,000 in value
