Renovations at Espace 4 Saisons

Spring is the Season of Renewal

The ‘Authentic’ section of our hotel is currently undergoing a makeover, that is almost complete. Here’s a look back at how the resort has evolved since its opening in 2006.

Some Background History

Espace 4 Saisons was originally called Auberge 4 Saisons and it was―and continues to be―the only hotel located at the foot of magnificent Mount Orford. During the early years (it was built in 2006), the hostelry welcomed visitors from around the world who stayed in a few rustic, but comfortable rooms. They also ate at the delicious and renowned Bistro 4 Saisons!

The PAL+ group acquired it a few years later.

The first enlargement of the property was in 2009. That was followed by upgrades down the years, notably the construction of a large terrace outside the Burger Pub—an attractive al fresco dining area that offers a great view over Mount Giroux. It was also that year that aesthetic spa Dôme de Morphée (which has existed for almost 30 years now) moved in and became a tenant of the hotel. It therefore completed its great offer by offering many treatments for guests.

Later in in 2015-2016, the property underwent a major expansion and renovations. The hotel now has 82 rooms, suites and lofts, as well as a wide range of facilities—an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool, a gym, an entertainment room, and a magnificent outdoor mezzanine with a view of the mountain. There are also a number of meeting spaces suitable for all types of events.

The 2016 renovation was major and it transformed the whole property, but it still divided it into two distinct sections—the new Signature section and the Authentic section (the former ‘auberge’). It is the latter section that we are renovating this year.

Why Renovate?

“The mission of Espace 4 Saisons, like that of the other enterprises in our group, is to offer our guests an authentic resort experience with fun activities, gourmet food and warm, professional service,” explains Élyse L’Espérance, President and Deputy CEO of PAL+. “We wanted to pursue this while responding to new trends, and that’s why we decided to renovate.”

Other objectives include:

  • Ensuring the best possible comfort of its rooms;
  • Continuing to surprise and delight its guests;
  • Maintaining the hotel’s excellent reputation and that of the Bistro (TripAdvisor has voted them #1 in the region, year after year!)
  • Improving both the customer and employee experience. To that end, we are also renovating Bistro 4 Saisons and the kitchen area, as well as the 28 guest rooms in the Authentic section, the common areas, and the meeting room.

“These renovations will bring a breath of fresh air to both our customers and our employees but the basics won’t change. Our hotel, surrounded by natural surroundings, will continue to offer a warm, welcoming ambiance with modern creature comforts,” says Ms. L’Espérance.

This summer, visitors will be able to sample our new rooms (and, of course, the always gorgeous rooms from our Signature section!) and our guest facilities. Not to mention our ideal location, which is so close to Mount Orford and within easy reach of cultural venues and tourist attractions.

If you’re the sporty type or an outdoor lover, you’ll be happy to know that our resort—situated at the base of Mount Orford, on the east side of Mount Giroux—is the gateway to a multitude of activities. It’s a mere two-minute drive to Mount Orford National Park. If retail therapy is more your thing, you can get to downtown Magog by car in only five minutes.
